Everyday banking doesn’t have to be boring. Sometimes the added value lies in a small gesture.

SurprisePay is a feature within KBC Mobile that lets users add a theme to a transfer, optionally with a personal message and/or photo. The recipient gets a personalised notification, turning an ordinary payment into a small moment of surprise. As UI designer I redesigned the entire experience, with handmade illustrations and animations, in light and dark mode, with tablet variants and accessibility (A11Y) as a fixed part of the design process.
